This is an original Bjørn Wiinblad “Tatiana” head vase/ bust made in 1962 for Ilums Bolighus a renowned Danish department store. A very rare and collectible piece of Danish mid-century design.
Wiinblad is renowned for his whimsical, hand-painted ceramics, and this vase is a beautiful example from his much-loved Tatiana series of Tatiana from a Midsummer Night's dream.
In well loved condition, she has had a repair to her head and has a few small chips, including some flea bites on her nose and some chips to her hair. However, she's still beautiful and any flaws aren't obvious when she's displayed and are reflected in the price as other vases from this series have sold for over £1000.
