Hi, I’m Em! 👋

I’m the person behind this little business, Oddeyes Vintage.

The name Oddeyes comes from my heterochromia. I have one blue eye and one brown eye 👀 and it seemed like a pretty fitting name for a business full of things that are a little bit odd and a little bit quirky. 

I studied History of Design at university and I’ve always been obsessed with vintage. I love mid century design, bright colours, trinkets and anything a bit weird or unusual. 

Oddeyes originally started as a way for me to sell some of the treasures I found while out hunting. Then somewhere along the way I started turning vintage ceramic animals into lamps and it all got slightly out of hand... 💡

The lamps are now a huge part of Oddeyes. I find all the ceramics and choose the shades and fittings, then my husband Ben helps me turn them into proper working lamps. We’ve now made and sold over 500 lamps! Every single one is unique and special. 

When I’m not making lamps, I’m usually out looking for more vintage, often with my two small boys in tow. There isn’t really a rule for what comes home with me. Ceramics, 70s homeware, Snoopy, weird little animals... if I love it, I’ll probably buy it.

I love finding brilliant old things and giving them another life for someone else to cherish. Things with a bit of history, colour and personality that you’re not going to find in everyone else’s house.
